Sweet Addiction – J Daniels (Sweet Addiction #1)

I took everyone’s tips about how they blog on board and so this time when I finished this book a week ago I made some quick notes about how I felt on it! It’s taking me ages to get to doing my review of this (I share the laptop with my brother and apparently Football is more important lol) but rereading my thoughts that I have written reminded me how I felt, so thank you all for the tips.

I downloaded this book when it was free on Amazon 🙂

Warning: This book contains adult themes and bad language. Recommended for 18+

Rating: 3.5 Stars

Synopsis:

Those who partake in this wicked little activity know the rules. Get in. Get laid. Get out. There’s no expectation of a relationship. It is what it is.

Dylan Sparks knows the rules. She’s familiar with the protocol. And she engages in the best sex of her life with a complete stranger at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding.

Reese Carroll doesn’t care about the rules. He wants more than just one night with Dylan.

And Dylan finds him too addicting to pass up.

Sweet Addiction is the story of one woman’s struggle to keep things casual, and one man’s desire to never let her go.

Review:

People ask me why I like reading books that can fall in the erotica genre. My reply is that sometimes even though the book has sex scenes the relationship between the main characters can be sweet and there can be relationship development, the perfect exmaples of this is The Unwanted Wife by Natasha Anders and Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. Plus now you cannot really get romance books that don’t have sex scenes in (i’m sure there are some without but generally), they don’t bother me but I am not a fan of no relationship development and just loads of sex scenes. This book actually was more based on the sex scenes rather than the relationship development for me. There was some relationship development between Dylan and Reese which was nice but not as much as I hoped to see more substance because I was actually interested in both characters. Personally for my taste they were too many sex scenes and they were quite graphic, I swear I was blushing at points. But I can overlook this because this book was a good read. I must say J Daniels did a great job with making the characters funny, likeable, relatable and easy to connect with, this include the side characters.

“He must be joking. Beautiful and highly intelligent? I feel like I’ve found a unicorn.”

“You make me want different things, things I’ve never wanted before.”

Both Dylan and Reese were well written and interesting, I loved how independent and witty Dylan was. I was so glad she stood up for what she believed in even if she was attracted to Reese. I do not want to spoil the book but lets say there was a slight misunderstanding about Reese’s relationship status after Dylan and Reese had ‘hooked up’ at the wedding. Dylan’s friends are so funny aswell, I’m glad they were supportive of Dylan and Joey was such comic relief.

This book is well written and I thought that the storyline was good too. There ofcourse were points where I wanted to shake both characters because they were both being blind and needed some sense talked into them, but eventually both Reese and Dylan came to there senses so I cannot hold it against them. Plus I did think Dylan had a point, at no point did Reese say he was after a serious relationship so if anyone is to blame for the lack of sense I blame Reese. I may be a bit bias though because I loved Dylan as a character.

This was suppose to be a mini review but I could not help myself! If you like what you’ve read in this review then give this book ago as it was a good easy read.

Happy Reading!!

Best buys!

I am on a book buying ban so paperback books are a no go for me at the moment. Instead I have been checking out the Top 100 on Amazon and downloading books on to my Kindle instead. I have purchased some books that sound really interesting that were either free or not that expensive on the kindle. What I noticed though were these are books I would have overlooked if I only brought paperback books, because either that they are a few years old, not being talked about on social media, written by a new author or a self published author who has just released an ebook rather than a physical book. I love the Top 100 on Amazon as you can specify the genre and see whats popular. I’d recommend checking them out!

I have linked the pictures with the book on Amazon, if you want to find out more information.

These are my best buys:
