The awkward moment when…

You realise there still 2 more years to wait until the release of a book you’ve already been waiting 3 years already to read. Yep this book better be worth the 5 years wait!

Yes Maya banks has confirmed that she is planning to release Highland Ever After in 2018! We still have quite some time to wait.

That is unless it gets pushed back to be released again. This is me waiting for Highland Ever After

Am I the only one still holding out on this book?

P.s. If you are wondering where I have been I’ve handed in my notice at work because it just was not for mew anymore. So i’m trying to find a new job, you forget when you’ve been in permanent employment for some time how long a job application takes. Please wish me luck 🙂

I am disillusioned about Maya Banks publishers ever releasing the title Highland Ever After. I preordered it again on Book Depository as it was scheduled to be released on 1st January. Well it has not been, nothing, nada. No email saying what’s going on or when it will be released as I haven’t received a confirmation of dispatch. Today is 11th January and nothing at all, I checked my order status and it says awaiting publication. This has been the story of my life for the last 3 years. I am literally done, I will read the book whenever it comes out but i’m no longer wasting my time anticipating it and pre-ordering it, there is no point. I have emailed Book Depository to see if the publication date is soon otherwise I am asking for a refund. I’m not trying to be negative but it is frustrating that the last book was released 3 years ago and the reason the book was not released at first in 2014 as Maya was changing publishers but the book was near completed. So much time later and we are still waiting on the publication but other books by her have been released. I’m sorry Maya I am very disappointed.

Has anyone else come across anything like this with a book release? Or is anyone else waiting for this book to be released?

OMG Highland Ever After

While on book depository doing my Christmas shopping I noticed that Highland Ever After is set to come out on 1st January 2016 and I had to share this with everyone. Literally pinch me I think I’m dreaming, there’s not many days left till Janurary and so I cannot wait. I really hope the book is released this time round. I have it on pre-order again and I literally have my fingers crossed it’s actually going to come out. The frustration I have had over waiting for this book is unreal, it been nearly 3 years! 3 freaking years since the last one was released.

If anyone else is waiting for this book head over to Book Depository to pre-order it. I have not seen it on any other website, I have checked Amazon, WHSmith, The Book people and Waterstones but no where else seems to have it. I guess the good thing is book depository have it at the price of £4.72 which is great. Click the here if you want to check it out.

Am I the only one waiting for this book to come out? Does anyone else understand my emotions and frustration with this book??

Judging a book by its cover

Are there any ever any book covers that you are embarrassed to buy? Well not embarrassed by such but are there any books covers you look at and think if someone sees me reading that…I know we should  not care what others think but for example I’m not going to sit and read in bed with a highlander infront of my mum with a cover like that haha. I’m sure my mother does not want to know.

Since e readers such as Kindles, Nooks, Kobo ect have been invented if a book has a sexy cover or what I consider risquĂ© anyway then I buy it on my Kindle. I read absolutely everywhere so find it uncomfortable reading a book with such a cover in public, at work (Imagine my boss’s face!), or in front of my parents. I find people think what are you reading and give you looks when you read a romance book with a mills and boon cover in public or just think your reading hardcore erotica. Most of these books actually have a really good story in it  which is why I love them and sure they contain sex scenes but hey I like that. The Mccabe and The Montgomerys & Armstrongs books are some of my favourites but they do have a ‘those’ covers.

You all know how eagerly I have been waiting for Highland Ever After, this book has one of those covers. I’m going to be buy it as an ebook so my parents and co workers are not scandalised.

So my question is do you buy books with such a cover and if so in what format? Or does this not bother you.

Time to Play TBR Book Tag!

I was tagged by Sara. if you’re not following or have not checked her blog out then your are missing out! I was tagged quite sometime agao so I apologise it’s taken me so long to get round to this! Hope you all enjoy it though!

1. How do you keep track of your TBR list?

The short answer is I do not mange this well. I have an ever growing pile by my bed and at the bottom of my bookshelf that I stare at every day and think omg I have to read these before I buy more books. It does not usually work that way which is why I have so many books on my TBR list. I do try to keep the names of all my unread book in a TBR Jar but I am a mood reader so I usually pick up a book depending on what mood I am in.

2. Is your TBR list mostly print or ebooks?

Ebooks. From above you can see I have many print books on my TBR but I have about 150 ebooks also on my TBR! Yikes I know and I will get round to reading them all soon.

3. How do you determine which book from your TBR list to read next?

My Mood or Social Media. For my mood it just depends on what mood I am in and if there’s a book on my TBR to match it. Otherwise if I have heard loads and loads on a book from other people that has been sitting on my TBR for ages then I decide to pick it up. I decided to read Fangirl a while ago since I had hear so much about it and it had been on my TBR for a couple of months

Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell

4. What’s been on your TBR list the longest?

There are actually a number of books that have been there for over two/three years but the old ones would be the Chronicles of Naria Series. I brought this about 4 years ago and still have not read them…

5. Pick a book you recently added to your TBR list.

I heard so many good things about this and it’s kind of another fairy tale retelling which I am really interesting in reading after finishing Cinder.

6. Pick a book that’s on your TBR list strictly because of its beautiful cover.

I cheated as I have two books. Sister Red and Half Bad.

7. Pick a book on your TBR list that you’re apprehensive about reading.

The Fault in Our Stars, not because I think it will be too sad but because I did not like Looking For Alaska and so am thinking this book may disappoint me too.

8. Pick an unpublished book on your TBR list that you’re excited for.

Highland Ever After – Maya Banks

9. Pick a book on your TBR list that basically everyone has read but you.

I’m sure not everyone has read this but so many people I have on Instagram has and I have not. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

10. Pick a book on your TBR list that everyone recommends to you.

Elanor & Park has been recommended to me so many times!

11. Pick a book on your TBR list that you’re dying to read.

The Jewel by Amy Ewing

12. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

As of today, the grand total is… 20 Books! I should use Goodreads more because I keep paper lists and lists on my computer/phone rather than Goodreads.

Tag some people!

If you like this tag then I tag you!

What books are on your TBR list? Have you read any of the books I mentioned? If so, what did you think of them?

Dealing with disappointment

I do not own this gif, it was taken from the internet

I’m sure you are all wondering why I have not posted about the book Highland Ever After by Maya Banks considering I was so excited about it. Well it turns out the publishers have pushed the book release date back again. This has made me sad because originally I was suppose to be released in March 2014, it was then pushed back to October 2014 then June 2015. When I saw on Book depository it was going to be released in December 2014 I was mega excited but now apparently the date has been pushed back again to February 2016. I’m not a happy bunny, I understand how much work goes into a book and how some it takes more time than planed to write a book however I have been waiting for this book since March 2013. I guess it just goes to show what an amazing writer Maya Banks I’m so hooked to this series that I need the next book asap and I’m still going to read this book whenever it gets released.

So how do I deal with this disappointment? I brought some other new books instead and I may reread the first two books in the series again.

How do you deal with disappointment? Has anything like this happened to a book you were waiting for?

So excited for Highland Ever After!

Highland Ever After – Maya Banks  (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs book 3)

I have never talked about this series on my blog but I am honestly counting down the days for the 3rd book in the series. Last time I checked this book’s release had been pushed forward to 2016 so while casually browsing Book Depository I saw this and nearly cried. Only 14 days to go? The release date has obviously been brought forward and I’m so excited. I need this book and I need it now so I have put it on pre-order, these books are one of my favourites. I may in the future reread the books so I can do a proper review on them.

The synopsis of the book is:

After Scotland’s three strongest clans forge a formidable alliance, an uneasy king plots to consolidate power. Knowing that true strength lies in possessing land, fealty, and hearts, he orders sweet Taliesan McHugh to submit to a marriage that will give him control of the coveted McHugh keep. A tender beauty, Taliesan accepts her fate, certain that her lame leg has made her undesirable to any man—until she is swept into the powerful embrace of rugged, devilishly sensual Brodie Armstrong, a warrior who vows to shield her from brutality at any cost.

Fearless and bold, Brodie refuses his king’s command to stand down. Instead, he conspires to rescue the rare beauty whose bravery and innocence stir his blood as no woman ever has. As desperate power struggles reverberate throughout the Highlands, Brodie defies his king and devotes himself to the only mission that commands his loyalty, his blood, and his honor: winning Taliesan’s heart.

Has anyone else read this series and if so what do you think?
