Book Tag!

Sorry I have not posted in a couple of days. I have been busy at work, it’s been quite stressful and I have just had a lot going on. Usually I have some scheduled posts but I have run out of those and so am running abit behind. I will try and sit down and do a proper post tomorrow.

Just thought I’d show my face on here! If you did not know I have a Instagram account called @hyperaboutbooks, you are able to follow me on there if you want. Anyway I was tagged on there to do a #bookandface and below is the result. I have to admit I’m happy with how this picture turned out.

What is everyone else doing/reading?

Harry Potter Spell Book Tag

Anna (Coolgirlsreadtoo), tagged me to do the Harry Potter Spell Book Tag, which I just had to do because it sounds so cool! I tag those who want to do this and

1. Expecto Patronum — A childhood book connected to good memories.

It cannot be anything other than Harry Potter. My favorite book in the series has always been and always will be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I grew up reading these books and so anytime I think or read this series it takes my back to my childhood.

2. Expelliarmus — A book that took you by surprise.

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. This book completely took me by surprise on how much I actually ended up enjoying it. It was not a massive plot twist or anything but I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. This is a really underrated book and series. I recommend people check it out.

3. Prior Incantato — The last book you read.

The Unwanted Wife by Natasha Anders. I love this book and I have spoken about it multiple times on my blog and Instagram. This is is again a underrated book that I would highly recommend to everyone. As long as you are not offended by steamy sex scenes and a hero that needs redemption then this book is for you. I’m rereading Eye of a Beholder now so I do not think that this book would count for this as I have not finished it yet.

4. Alohomora — A book that introduced you to a genre you wouldn’t have considered before.

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. Up to the age of 18/19 I only use to read YA books and would not consider reading anything else. I do not remember how I came across this book, I believe I wanted another Vampire book because I was having Twilight withdrawals and decided to give this a chance. So glad I did, I enjoyed it so much that this book was what got me into more new adult/erotica books.

5. Riddikulus — A funny book you read.

Umm this is a really hard question. I haven’t ever read a proper comedy book. The only book that I may (my memory is bad sorry) laugh quite a bit in Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson or Bridal Favors by Connie Brockway, Justin really made me laugh.

6. Sonorus — A book that you think everyone should know about.

Oooh such a hard question as there are many books like this. I would mention The Unwanted Wife but I have already used that book so I chose Whisper by Chelsea M. Cameron. This book literally took me by surprise.

7. Obliviate — A book you wish you never read.

Hahaha there are many books that I have not enjoyed that can come under here. The one that sticks out in my memory is Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr. I remember buying this book and reading it because I loved Wicked Lovey, but I hated this book. It confused me so much that I did not understand what was going on at all. Not a good read and I ended up donating both books to charity because I did not like the second one.

8. Imperio — A book you had to read for school.

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I do not remember much about this book as I read it over 8 years ago now (OMG I did not realise it was that long?!) except that it was an ok read. It was so sad near the ending.

9. Crucio — A book that was painful to read.

Noughts and crosses by Malorie Blackman. OMG the ending!

10. Avada Kedavra — A book that could kill.

The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman. This is book is so heart wrenching at the end, I cried continuously in the last 4 chapters I believe. I really wish it ended differently but that’s my opinion my friend that the ending was amazing as it had more meaning. I adore this book!

Hope you enjoyed reading this!

I tag anyone who wants to do this 🙂

Liebster Award

Thank you 52lettersinthealphabet for nominating me for the Liebster Award 😀

4. Ask the 11 bloggers you nominated 11 questions and let them know you nominated them!

Part two:

1. Can you read in loud places or only when it is quiet?

I can read in loud places. I tend to turn out the world which is not a good thing when someone tries to get your attention lol I end up ignoring them as I’m too engrossed in my book.

2. Do you prefer to read stand alone books or series?

Oh this is a hard question. I’d say stand alone as I want to know what happens in the end straight away rather than waiting for the next book.

3. Who is your favorite author and why?

J.D.Robb because the In Death series is so well written

4. Do you organize your bookshelves in any particular way?

No. I just try to fit all my books on my bookshelf

5. What fictional character would you date?

6. What is book that has made you angry (for any reason)?

I can’t remember the name of the book but I recently read a YA where the hero cheats and it’s totally glossed over, he’s not sorry about it and still he’s forgiven.

7. What genre do you never read?

Sci Fi

8. What is the best book you’ve read this year?

The Unwanted Wife

9. Do you prefer paperbacks, hardcovers, or e-books?

Umm, ebooks. Because you physically do not have to hold the book I can eat and read at the same time lol

10. What is one book you wish everyone would read?

There are so many! I guess I chose Sweet lullaby by Lorraine Heath

11. What book has influenced your life the most?

Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman
