When a film makes you buy a book

I went to the cinema today with some friends and saw the advert to Me before You and recognised that this was a book that i’ve been seeing around Instagram but didn’t know much about. After watching the trailer though I decided I not only have to buy the book but watch the film. I came home and ordered the book straight away. I look forward to reading it. I have a feeling I know how this is going to end. I’m going to end up in the same boat as The Fault in Our Stars, but we shall have to see.

Has this ever happened to you? Have you made a book purchase based on a film or a trailer?

  1. It’s happened to me too! I didn’t read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy until after I’d seen all three movies (and of course, I loved the books too). More recently I saw the film version of the The Martian before reading the book, and I ended up loving both as well. 🙂

  2. I thought I was alone! I actually just finished the book and I have a review about it on my blog. And I bought the book because I think the trailer is awesome and it has SAM FREAKING CLAFFIN.
