I need to stop buying books!

This is the part where I confess I ignored the book buying ban my mum has put me on. My dad has been hassling me for years to read Animal Farm by George Orwell. So I went on to Waterstones to buy it and I ended up with all of these aswell. I have no defence other than I’m weak willed when it comes to buying more books, I like buying and reading books.

And I brought more books...My haul from Amazon and Waterstones

So the books I purchased are Animal Farm by George Orwell, The Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J R R Tolkien and Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. The only hardback book I purchased was Rebel Belle, the others are paperbacks. The reason for buying this book as a hardback was because the paperback does not come out till next year and I needed this in my life now!

  1. I’m having the same problem right now. šŸ˜‰ Bought 6 books in the past 2 weeks!

I read “Animal Farm” in school when I was maybe 15 or 16 years old. I don’t remember much about it, but that was during a time when I didn’t like reading because most of what I read in school didn’t appeal to me….

Yay for LOTR! šŸ™‚ Have you had a chance read “The Hobbit” yet?

    • Haha its bad isn’t it? Ooh what did you buy? And did you get new books for your birthday?

We obviously have no self control when it comes to books. That’s cool, my dad read it when he was younger and has always said you need to read this. I just finally after so many years got round to buying it.

I started reading The Hobbit and enjoyed it but I put it down before I could finish it (don’t know why). So I brought the other 3 because I though if I’ve enjoyed The Hobbit so far I’ll probably enjoy the other books šŸ™‚

      • My birthday is still a couple weeks away. I start putting together a birthday list early because sometimes people start asking me for gift ideas that far in advance. *lol*

Here are the books I bought (none of which were on my birthday list, btw):

        – “Born of Shadow” and “Born of Silence” by Sherrilyn Kenyon
        – “A Discovery of Witches” by Deborah Harkness
        – “Stone of Tears” by Terry Goodkind
        – “Seraphina” by Rachel Hartman
        – “Learning to Walk in the Dark” by Barbara Brown Taylor

Oh good! Glad to hear you liked reading “The Hobbit.” I do recommend that you finish it before December if you plan on seeing the third and final film, though – unless you’d rather be surprised.

      • lol Ahh that makes sense. Do tell me (or I’ll read about it on your blog if you do a post) about what you think about the Sherrilyn Kenyon books.

lol I would be worried if these books were on your birthday list. You don’t want to end up with two copies! šŸ˜›

      • I probably will review both SK books at my site once I read them. Not sure when that will happen, though, since my “to read” pile keeps growing taller with each purchase! *lol* But yes, that’s the plan.
