Underrated Series

I find that the Darkest Power series by Kelley Armstrong is underrated. It does not get the amount of attention that it should do. In the first book The Summoning it does take about 3 to 4 chapters to get into but once your past them you are so sucked into the story that you do not want to put the book down and stop reading. The series consists of 3 books, The Summoning, The Awakening and The Reckoning. The series is about a girl called Chloe Saunders who can see ghosts. Events lead up to her being sent to Lyle House, a “special home” for troubled teens in the first book. Once Chloe is in Lyle House the story starts to pick up. We get to meet a couple of interesting characters. (Derek being my favourite!).  Chloe is a very likable character and you find yourself wanting to know what actually happens to her. This series while being a YA is a must read.

Favourite quote from The Summoning  :

“He pivoted, gaze following me as I crossed to the shower and turned on the cold water, so it would drown out our conversation without steaming up the room.
Great,” he muttered.”Now they’re going to think we’re showering together. Maybe we can just tell them we were washing off the crawl space dirt and trying to conserve water.”
